Gooseberry
A fresh and balanced gooseberry liqueur, handmade in Denmark by SOL (Spiritus og Likør). This unique liqueur is created with love for natural ingredients and respect for classic craftsmanship.
History and production
The gooseberries for the liqueur come from organic fruit trees at Troldgaarden, idyllically located between Aarhus and Horsens. The first green gooseberries of the summer add a perfect balance of acidity and sweetness, which helps to define the character of the liqueur. The fresh berries steep in organic spirits for 6 months before brewer's sugar is added to create the final taste. The liqueur is then gently bottled.
SOL is based in Copenhagen, but the production and raw materials are deeply rooted in Danish soil. The label design, made in linoleum by artist Christian Haxgart, reflects the natural and artistic soul of the liqueur.
Serving suggestions
Gooseberry can be enjoyed alone over ice as a delicious dessert liqueur or served as a fresh aperitif. Topped with sparkling water, ice cubes and a slice of lemon, you get a light and tart cocktail that is perfect for warm summer evenings.
